We visited Scremers Hollow in Sterling, New York in 2009. After visiting the website, we saw that the Hayride cost $18, and the other two attractions where around $7 or $8. When we arrived, we saw the ticket booths, and waited 15 minutes to purchase them. At the ticket booth, we were told that we couldn't purchase tickets for the haunted houses ($7 to $8) without a ticket to the Hayride ($18)!!! No where on the website did it say you had to buy an $18 ticket to buy more ticket. We where already there, and with no other haunts in the area, we reluctantly paid for the hayride and the trail. First we waited in line for the hayride. We waited for about 25 minutes and finally boarded the hayride. The hayride consisted of a few scenes here and there, and some costumed actors. Nothing special. Next, we walked a great distance to the line for the Trail. After waiting in that line for 20 minutes, we where put in the group with a teenage girl as our guide. The guide walked us through the attraction, while spouting terrific dialogue like; "And this is the Cemetery. Watch out for that guy. He's dead." All in a bored monotone voice. The trail lasted about 5 to 7 minutes, with only a few actors. Overall, I would not recommend Screamers Hollow in Sterling, New York. The ticket price in very high, and you don't get much for it. All ratings are out of 5 pumpkins. Ticket Price Wait time Haunt Itself Actors Value Overall Rating out of 5

Hey there spook.................I think your rating of 2 out of 5 was ok for last year for Screamers Hollow............... but lets really talk about this year and what they have going on.Many people are going and enjoying the experience....as many changes have been made there. They have price packages to fit everyones budget, lots of wagons....free shows... and you get plenty of entertainment for the price as well. Happy Haunting spook

Reading the reviews for Screamers Hollow, I realized that the people who like it are people who don't like actual scary haunted houses. They keep talking about how it's "different" and how there are so many other things there (food, band, campfire) besides the actual haunt. The fact is that Sreamers Hollow is way overpriced and lame as a haunted house. There aren't nearly enough actors. You basically pay almost $30 to walk around the renaissance fair campground in the dark. The scariest part was the drive into the place. We were very disappointed.

Their are more than 150 scaractores at screamers this year as my mother now's the office manager and it is far more scary than last year we have gone each year and have seen the improvements especially this year The prices start at just $7 and if you buy all 4 haunts it averages only $8 per, not bad considering 3 to 4 hours of entertainment. I recommend another visit to see the improvements its very cool!

Im thinkin about checkin it out this year...I too went last year and was very disapointed ......maybe it was the yaer before? but either way it was 3 different trails and my issu was the same as a previous post ...the trials were stretched out way to far .and he problem with that is all the down time between haunts an im not talking about waiting in line for the haunts the actual haunt......i didnt like the down time between the scenes.....you walk through one little building that has a couple characters or scenes then you gotta walk 5 minutes all the way to the next and then to the next and in between you dont see anything but the other groups walking past you...the haunts were coo but the down time between huts or buildings on the trails wasnt ....neddless to say ill prb checkit out since its different this year and ill spend the $ so me an my girl can do everything...but if I am disapointed again i have to say i will never go to scremaers hallow again....I in fact said that last time...but i guess I can give it one more shot

In your other post on the other thread about screamers you said you went last weekend and on this thread you just posted you said you paid $35 I don't believe you really went because last week end there was a special price on the bloody bundle (all 4 attractions package) and you would not have paid $35. Whats up with that? Any body who hasn't been this year should check it out awesome sound effects loads of live actors Huge animatronics excellent stage shows great lighting. The ghost story fire pit is outstanding. I believe this is the best haunt by far in C.N.Y.

@ "theking"...
Sorry, $32. I had to use a coupon for $3 off that I printed from the screamers hollow website. The normal price is $35. Something tells me that you are well aware of this. Since the last thread was locked, ill reply here. I posted how I felt about paying an exorbited rate for the attraction. The slaughter house could not have been worse...and that was the first place my group and I went. Maybe I didnt enjoy it as much as kids would but I found parts of screamers hollow to be extremely lowsy. For somebody looking for a thrill, screamers hollow did not achieve that for me. For somebody looking for a little entertainment then I might recommend it.
The offense that you've taken from my reviews of screamers hollow and the fact that every single post you have on this site is regarding screamers hollow leaves me to believe that you work at screamers hollow. Its amusing that you read one positive review of another haunted house by me and immediately assume that I work there. ;D
I dont work for any haunted house anywhere. I never said that I went to one in Rome. The reason for my reviews posted all in the same day, as you pointed out, is because I happened to be on the computer, and on this website, and reviewing reviews, and writing reviews. Shocker, right?
To the other person who asked me about "the last ride" haunted hayride, I didnt end up going this passed weekend because of the weather friday night and other plans I had for the rest of the weekend. Im planning on CNC haunted house and hopefully either "the last ride" or "blood creek manor" this coming weekend and ill leave a review for those...IF its ok with theking lol

Same deceptive pricing scheme happened to me. I refused to pay that much and we turned around and drove back to syracuse... ended up not doing a haunt that night and just went to the one at the fair parking lot and hung out playing the quarter game (it actually gives you back real quarters not tokens). Waste of gas and time, way to expensive and I didn't want to pay extra to hear some crappy cover band. Scrap the bands and save us all some money
