Has anyone been to screamers hollow yet? opened last wkend. It's kind of far but I read they out alot of money into it.

screamers hollow is on the old renesance festival grounds. should be cool but i cant find anywhere they say if its outdoors or indoors. october is usually rainy. anyone have info?

screamers hallow is AAAAWWWFFFFUUUULLLLL!!!!. and the group i was with would completely concur. i did not see ONE person in the over sized group i was in (in an attempt to get as many people thru to try and get back some of the money wasted on this 'attraction') was startled, spooked or scared in any way. the settings and props are bush league, at best, seriously. whomever designed and decorated these walkthroughs is clearly out of their league even competing against your local town charity haunted house for kids. in what world is freddie kruger, jason, or a pathetic attempt at the exorcist scary ANYMORE???(complete with makeshift wooden dummy with a foam head and a bad regan mask stuffed on it sitting stiff and erect in a bed with it's head moving slower than molasses in january). michael myers ceased to me the least bit frightening to me so long ago i can't remember when he was, and no i'm not old. lol. especially when the first thing i saw as i walked into the set (as was the case with about all the sets throughout both walks) was a portable cd player/radio sitting Right there in plain sight on a dresser and playing scary music. huh? am i really supposed to be able to see that? how about TRYING to fool me maybe!!? the chuckie 'exhibit was manned by a fully grown man in a cheap chuckie mask. the bates motel had NOTHING in it but a low roof i hit my head on, dangerously steep stairs, and some half empty rooms with ''people' (aka stuffed shirts and pants with makeshift heads) lying in bunks (one of the rooms simply had a pillow with a mask layed on it!). no norman bates, no psycho scene. WTF??? are you kidding me! i mean really! the people at screamers hollow are so far out of touch with what we find even remotely scary, i wouldn't have been surprised if someone in a large marge mask (from the pee wee herman movie) jumped out and yelled BOO from behind one of the many boarded up and unused little buildings you meander past while walking frightlessly (literally, nothing happens in between) from one uneventful 'set' to the next. some of the friends i was with were nervous and anxious on the drive to screamers hallow, wondering what scares would await them and repeating over and over how easily scared they are at such things. it was sad to see them bored out of their minds and completely un-spooked in any way. even saying they were more afraid telling stories and chatting in the car on the way up than during both walkthroughs combined. i heard one woman say it was the worst haunted attraction she had been to ever, and that that was saying something since she is pretty easy to amuse and scare as well. if screamers hallow did spend alot of money it was prolly on the large robotic monsters they had around. their is really only 3, one of which was off the whole time we were there out front, another one that didn't really do much but move back and forth out of time with it's accompanying sound and voice effects, and another that seemed to have to be started by our guide as we had to stop and wait for it to 'kick on' and listen to it rattle and creak through it's routine while we found ourselves in the familiar position of standing and just staring. most of the sets and scenes they walk you thru and around you find yourself doing this. just literally walking, stopping, staring, and then walking on some more, stopping, watching some poor teen make a fool out of themselves trying to 'act scary' and struggling to come up with some scary phrase or two. in between looking at the other guests in my group we found ourselves often looking at the 'actors' confused as they looked back at us with blank looks once they were finished with whatever routine we were stopped and made to observe. WHO STOPS YOU DURING A HALLOWEEN WALKTHROUGH??? the whole point is to keep the frights coming so you move along in fun fear and anticipation of what is to come around the corner. many of the workers were in someones failed attempts at costumes, not even bothering to tuck in there masks or change out of the clothes they had on from hanging around the house earlier that day. again, for my $25 dollars THEY DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO PRETEND OR CARE. where were the professional makeup artists and professional actors i had heard and read would be on hand?? the headless horseman i thought MIGHT be cool just kind of trotted up casually and stopped, prompting us to stop, as he barked out a simple BLAAAHH and then just sat there on his horse. while we laughed. though at that point that was all we could do. all hope was lost after some girl not even dressed in costume, hair pulled back and glasses on jumped out and yelled RRAAARW at us as we went by. really!! I MEAN REALLY!!! it's also the sign of a really well organized and throughout attraction to have, as we walked through the trails, bad classic rock blaring off in the distance from the townie band employed to keep those in line entertained. is that scary?? does pat benatar make anyone anxious with scary anticipation? is this where part of my admission money is going!!?? to pay the band? it sure is! how about you lose the band and LOWER THE PRICE? if i wanted to see a rock band i'd go to a show and have a beer. not pay 25 bucks for two horrible walkthroughs and a cover band ruining the creepy vibe we were trying to get. i will say that whoever put the commercial together should run for president. as they did one hell of a job fooling me into thinking screamers hollow is anything but HOLLOW. SSSOOOOOO LLLAAAAMMMMME! trust me. the only screaming you'll be doing is for your money back...........so far my favorite haunt has been creepy camps. though i haven't been yet this year (as we wasted our first venture out on screamers hollow) i look forward to going. you get more bang for your buck i believe. and even when it's corny it's fun. the one at the fair is so so. somewhat entertaining and not too far. hafners i went to for the first time last year and it really sucked. but i think it's for younger children overall anyway. at least i hope so. because that's how it seemed. i think the same monster tried to scare us like 3 times in different areas. lol. if it's not for the much younger set, then please see above, as it ranks right up there with screamers hollow. or should i say ranks down there. how pathetic that these other smaller venues like creepy camps and even the fair are putting what is supposed to be a major attraction like screamers hollow to SHHAAAAMMME. it just goes to show you that all their money invested (wasted) can't buy talent when those at the helm lack it to begin with. and you can clearly tell that whoever is in charge there at screamers hollow, from the ideas to the layout to the implementation, clearly has NO CLUE. i wouldn't trust them to run a haunted house at the local field days. but they sure knew how to take our money and become ghosts. i guess that makes us the holl-o-weenies. kn

I have been to Blood Creek Manor and it was awesome. The inside part isn't that good but the trail is amazing! Scary too. The best haunted house we have been to in NY is Trail of Terror in Volney ny. The inside haunted house is so scary and the trail is as well. This is not for young kids...& some adults got so scared the tour guide had to stop the group and be escorted out of the trail which we found kinda funny because what did they expect?

We went to Screamers last year and it was so-so, but we could see the potential so we went back last friday night and I have to say their has been a HUGE improvement. Lots more to see and do like live interactive stage and street shows and 3 completely new haunts, the hay ride was lots of fun and more than half an hour long and the Saluter House Asylum maze was VERY scary. Lots of details like awesome quality sound systems and sound tracks to set the mood. The band was very cool too, all costumed up. The place was kind of a rock-n-roll haunted freak fest. I recommend it!

Yup I recommend it too. it's gonna be our fams new halloween tradition. I went with my fam on opening day & I'm goin again in a couple wks with my boys I can't wait to see my boys in the maze. its intense. creepy whispers and backwards talking & sounds comings from all around. it's kinda sick. It'll be better with more people though. plus we'll drink 40s before we went in so it'll be that much better.

this wkend is the weekend most haunts open so i'm gonna go to another one this weekend. i want to hit one every weekend in oct!

First off, I think any of you who are posting from LAST YEAR on any of the attrations really are not being fair to the haunts. Try posting your real thoughts after you have actually been THIS YEAR!! I have been to trail of terror.......and to be honest...it was lame.The place is filled with kids!! I am tired of that place offering the same stuff each year. I also go tocreek.........it was pretty good....and like the fair grounds, it lacked some luster and talent. I have been to so many haunts.......and unless you go to a theme park, they are to entertain you....and give you something to enjoy. As for screamers hollow..my family went last weekend and we all had a great time...........we took the long hayride....and we loved the big creatures......and my wife and two brothers ( we are not teens here) both enjoyed it all. The catwalk guy was great!! We bought tickets to the maze too.and we had so muh fun in there.......and people were screaming inside while we stood in line waiting. we got inside and it got me a few times...let alone the woman in our group. I guess all I can say is, im not sure what happened last year there, but this year was great!! So, deide for yourself.and at least go this year, and dont rely on people who are still posting on last years crap. Hope this helped...have fun haunting!!!
