;D I would like to just tell everyone of my evening last night at Screamers Hollow. I went with my husband an 3 kids and we had a wonderful time! I did have some trouble finding it, but once we got there we got right in and we bought tickets to everything. I dont know what this place was like last year, but we loved it this year. The hayride was really done nice with lots of lights and we really like the wheel game stop and the big stage with the electric chair! Very nice touch!! we did all the attractions, and even my husband got scared in the maze- asylum. I got it good at Spirits on the Boggs....from some old lady in a wood house and We all were moving fast to keep going. We then sat with our hamburgers at the magic show after, and we were there for 3 hours! FIRES are a nice change. It is something very nice in this area that's very very different. Good luck to all of you at SCREAMERS HOLLOW.......we all loved it!!

So glad someone posted who went! I have a question. We were thinking of going to this, but it's a little expensive (for me anyway). Do you feel like it was worth the money you spent? $35 per person x5 people in your family means you spent $175 just to get in, and probably over $200 since you ate there. Do you feel like the price was reasonable considering what you see and get? $200 night out is unheard of in my family. But if it's really that awesome I might just take the plunge!
If we do this, we're not going to be able to do anything else for a long time, as to me, an extra $100 is hard to come by. I just want to get some peoples take on it.

We went last saturday and it was excellent the prices started at just $7 x 5 people in your family would only be =$35 and there are 3 other combinations which step up in value and price each time. If you buy the bloody bundle all 4 attractions you get $3 off per person at the gate. Some are family friendly others more intense check out there web site screamershollow.com there is a menu of options to choose from and some info about each. You definitly get your moneys worth because the village of the damed has 4 stage and street shows are included and we thought they were very good and you could stay in the village as long as you want. The hay wagon ride is 40 or 45 minutes alone. Its kind of like a halloween event or festival and we stayed for the evening. All said and done I would say if you are looking for more of an experience and not a quick thrill we would recommend Screamers.

Thanks king! I think we're going to go, but I can't afford the whole bundle so I think we'll just do the hayride and skip the village thing. We want to go more for some scares than stage shows, but that sounds like a good and long hayride. I think $10 seems fair for a nice long hayride, as long as it's scary . I was in the car with my wife and we heard the commercial and we're both kind of excited now!! hehe. The website is kind of confusing, can we just go on the hayride without the village? And the village is $7 so can I not go to that and just pay $10 per family member? Any tips? anyone? also does anyone have any tips for other haunts priced similar ($10-$15) same distance or closer to scarycuse? Thank you!

Ok...Let me see if I can help with the question above on pricing at Screamers Hollow. Its simple really, the Village alone is $7.00 bucks....for the live stage shows....and the Hayride an village are $18.00. There are other options too, but they sell in PACKAGES...so you can find something that fits your budget. The difference is, this place is not just a hayride or just a simple halloween haunt, it's a show of sorts......a mix of different things, and something you can enjoy for a whole evening. Try it out.......you will have lots of fun!! It's a blast!!!!!

I'm curious why you have gone out of your way to bash screamer on several threads here TODAY and complimented the place in Rome what are you up too? Could it be you work their? Are you friends with some one over their.

I agree with jimmychonga, I drove all the way to screamers it's first year, and turned around and left because their website pricing was misleading. You HAVE to pay for the village/band/shows, it really got my goat (hehe) that it was not made clear on their web pricing list. I had no interest in that band/stage of it and I refused to spend $50+ for two of us to do a halloween event. I LOVE Halloween and Halloween events, but I'd NEVER pay $175+ for a family to go to a halloween attraction, that is NOT family friendly pricing, its just ridiculous imho. If i did it would only be for Darien Lake, which would still be cheaper and you get to ride the rides!!! The next week we checked out Cayo $30 for both. Yes, there WAS a lack of live actors there last year, but they did GET me almost everytime, it's hard to distinguish whats live or not there. This year we went the first weekend and there were more live actors, and I really got owned a few times! Personally I am fascinated by the scenery and I made sure just the two of us went in together so I could spend time looking at everything. It's about the same distance from Syracuse to each, but I could see Cayo not being for everybody. Seriously though for that amount of money, save it for the holidays and take in a $10 family run haunt on a farm somewhere!!

My responses were only to his multiple posts first, you have it in reverse friend and his were all done almost simultaneously as well as a compliment to his favorite attraction which makes it appear a bit suspect thats all I'm saying. As i've said before my mother works at the Ren-Fair/ Screamers in the office so i'm privy to some of the detail I and my peeps have also enjoyed several others on this site as well as several in other states over many years and many from the best of the travel channel top 10. I don't know every thing but i've seen GOOD and screamers is good and may become great if they keep working hard!

thats awesome king. I remember when i heard the commercials on 93Q when they first started doing the haunt at the Renaissance fair i thought it was gonna be sick but i quickly heard it wasnt scary so I never went. Its good that they are workin at making it better. maybe i'll go next year I just cant afford it this year plus maybe nxt yr they will have an adult haunt of some kind instead of only the ages 8 and up.

Actually the bogs and the asylum are better suited for the strong willed but all are very adult friendly and will definitely doe the trick. Many 8 year olds would be able to handle what they dish out most parents know their kids well enough to judge whats best. The ghost story fire pit is a must see, in fact "Village of the Damed" has four of its own shows all with a professional acting troop out of NY City performing every night.
