I'm quite torn about this haunt. On one hand my group and I felt they did a fairly good job on the variety of scares, enthusiasm of the actors, haunt layout, and scenery. The cost, at $12.00 a person was reasonable given the free entertainment of "A Nightmare Before Christmas" and some horror stories being told. Also, the promise of free cookies and cider at the end of the haunt and a few free swag items too helped. However, I am reluctant to give this haunt a thumbs up due to one factor.
The wait time from when we bought out tickets till we were called to be ready to enter the haunt was 1 and a half hours. Groups were called roughly every 10 minutes. Although the plan seemed sound in order to keep one group from catching up to another one, the amount of people wanting to go caused huge backups in wait time. From a business stand point it made some sense to have people wait a long time. The longer a customer would wait with nothing to do, the more likely they will purchase something. However, that long of a wait nearly drove us away and they would make more money the more people they can get in per night... My group and I felt the haunt was not worth the money solely based on the waiting time just to jet in. I felt that some of the the other aspects though are good enough and despite the line wait, which would happen at any fairly good haunt (maybe not that long though), they did get me to shield myself at one point near the exit. By the way, I did scrape my head a bit at the end there so do be careful.
I give it a 3 out of 5
