Summary for those who don't feel like reading further: [/b]I think it sucked, and really wish we went somewhere else.
Me & some friends went to creepy camp last night and what a let down! We all got the $20 for 3 attraction tickets/wrist bands. The 1st attraction we went through was "Intensity"; A dark/pitch black maze with about 3 or 4 live people in there. It was semi-fun only because it was so dark, and of the 3 attractions, it was the best, but that's not saying much. The scares in intensity consist of a guy banging on the walls here and there.. And a couple times (toward the end) an actual masked monster jumped out. It's kinda fun to walk around in the pitch dark with the suspense building wondering when someone is going to "getcha" with a great scare... Unfortunately, the scare never came. Missed opportunities everywhere.
After "Intensity" we had to decide which to do next; "The Slaughterhouse" or "Creepy Cabins" (I think).... Well, looking back, it didn't matter, because they were both equally unimpressive, and neither really had any theme that went along with their names.. We chose the Slaughterhouse next.. Again, I'd estimate maybe FIVE live people in there, with one or two decently timed startles... One problem is, we heard many of the scares before hand while we waited to go in. Also, while we waited, you'd think there'd be some spooky music or something.. They had one speaker in the center of the "courtyard" (for lack of a better term) playing some lame, cheesy dollar store Halloween CD. Throughout the attractions themselves, the sound systems could not have been more than a few boomboxes total. Anyway, one thing that stuck out, while going through the "Cabins" attraction, you walk through a bathroom scene, in an actual bathroom. We were waiting for a scare in there, (that never came) so my friend swung open one of the stall doors to find stacks of chairs and other things in "storage". Seems to me, when you're walking through whats being advertised as "CNY's Largest and Scariest haunted attractions", you should NOT see crap stored in the scenes... You should see either props, or well placed actors.
Long story short, Creepy Camp was a big disappointment. On Oct 3, the 2nd night of Creepy Camps operation, you'd think they'd be pulling out all stops to bring in the season with a bang.. No such luck. To be fair, we went kinda late, at around 11pm, so ok, maybe the monsters were "tired"... But as far as I'm concerned, you should close earlier if you can't put on a consistently good event all night. Especially so early in the season.
I've definitely gone to MUCH better 'single attraction' haunts for $7! So I'd have been more satisfied if creepy camp was $12, or maybe $15.
